@ Wesley – if you have forgotten the Kindle’s password you can reset it by typing “resetmykindle” into the password field. All content will disappear from the device and you will have to re-register it. Then your content will return and you can create a new password.

I think your product is great but is there any chance of a student/teacher version please? I am both a student and a teacher and I am overwhelmed with text books, journals and newspapers in a house with no more room. What we need is a tool to store and read with an accessability to the index just like the access already provided on the contents page of your product. Maybe a slightly bigger screen? an education section in your book shop? think schools and colleges, not just universities? and a great alternative to the ever expensive ipad. Students are poor, teachers say they are too and what would rock my world is if I could replace the arm full of rersources that I carry across campus, with a lovely, sleek bit of kit like yours.
Just a thought, and if you do make one, can I have it first please?

@ Paul. I believe one issue is the cloud internet access, which uses amazon’s US based servers to ease the work done by the tablet when browsing the internet. You cannot use this capability if browsing in the UK currently, which means if you get hold of one it won’t work as well as it does for US customers.

The colour version is already available in the US. Why the delay in this country? My wife won’t entertain one until the colour version sells here. Failing that, I’ll get my mate in Alaska to buy one and bring it over on his next visit…

@ Paul, I never use it, but yes “Kindle makes it easy to find what you’re looking for. Just enter a word or phrase and Kindle will search every instance across your Kindle library, in the Kindle Store, on Wikipedia, or the Web using Google search. “.

Can the Kindle search by word or phrase across multiple books and documents. I do a lot of research and I need to be able to search across all my books for a particular topic. The iPad does this well.

Amazon do not ship Kindles to Singapore or offer content there. I am guessing you had the Kindle shipped to another country initially (or got second hand). You would need to register the Kindle to that other country if you wanted to download new ebooks.

I live in singapore and I have the kindle e reader. However I am unable to buy the ebooks from amazon uk. There are so many books that i want to buy but it appears that amazon uk will not accept purchase. Is this true ? What is the use of having the kindle then.

Wahid, if you have access to wi-fi you can use that to download books to the Kindle. If not you will need to download ebooks to a computer and then transfer to the Kindle itself using the USB cable.
